Summer Opportunitiess

Aside from professional opportunities such as internships, high school and college students can engage in academic and leadership opportunities available in El Paso, the state of Texas, and institutions throughout the United States. Click on the name of each opportunity below to learn more.

For High School Students

Free program for Juniors. DYNAMC introduces students to the opportunities offered with a degree in accounting.

Free program for rising juniors and seniors. This is an opportunity to spend a week in Washington, D.C., exploring the city, learning about the legislative process and developing their leadership skills as emerging leaders.

Free summit and paid internship for juniors and seniors. Every year, hundreds of community-minded high schoolers are accepted into the Student Leaders program. They get first-hand experience in serving their communities through a paid eight-week internship with nonprofits like Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Habitat for Humanity.

They also get to see how nonprofits, governments and businesses collaborate to meet local needs by participating in the national Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C. Many of the students use their new-found skills to create more change and improve more lives, with inspiring stories of enthusiasm and commitment.

Free program for Juniors. MFEA brings high school students together for a week of hands-on workshops and learning opportunities. Participants will learn about the multiple fields in business.

Free program for Juniors. A semester of college condensed into one invigorating summer, the MITES Summer program includes high-level math and science, as well as electives that focus on real-world STEM applications—from Machine Learning to Architecture to Genomics—what most high school curricula don’t cover. You’ll learn about the impact of STEM on society and how to use your knowledge to build a better world.

Free program for Juniors. Being a College Prep Scholar is a notable distinction that shows our college partners that you are a competitive candidate for admission. In addition, your application will automatically carry over for the National College Match when you’re a senior, giving you a head start on applying for a full four-year scholarship to our college partners. College Prep Scholars are almost six times more likely than other applicants to receive full four-year scholarships through the National College Match.

Free program for juniors. Subiendo is a five-day summer leadership program designed to prepare young leaders in addressing the needs of the next generation by problem-solving issues in healthcare, energy/environment, and education.

Program for Sophomores and Juniors offering need-based aid. Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is an academic enrichment program for outstanding high school students from around the world. Each summer, students from over 150 countries (including all 50 U.S. states) participate in one interdisciplinary, two-week session at Yale’s historic campus. Immerse yourself in a global learning community at Yale University.

For College Students

Free program for freshmen. Immersive two-day workshops for first-year undergraduate students. Attendees will explore the potential of a career in consulting, refine their problem-solving and leadership skills, and connect with members of our Black, Hispanic & Latino, and Indigenous networks.

Paid program for sophomores. The Advancing Black Pathways Fellowship Program offers a five-week paid, full-time summer fellowship held in select JPMorgan Chase offices. The ABP Fellowship Program is seeking sophomore students, including, without limitation, Black students, who are interested in exploring career opportunities at JPMorgan Chase.

Open to college students offering reimbursement for travel and lodging. The FIRE Student Network Summer Conference brings more than 100 college students from across the country to Philadelphia to learn, network, and strategize about free expression. At the conference, you’ll explore the intersection of culture, law, and policy, and leave with an action plan to create real change on your campus.
